Who We Are
In Sub-Saharan Africa, a child is orphaned every 14 seconds. In the wake of the HIV/AIDS pandemic, there are over 11,000,000 orphans living there.
In the small Southern African kingdom of Eswatini, HIV/AIDS infects more than one in four people, making it the country with the highest HIV/AIDS prevalence rate in the world. The result is an exploding number of households headed by children.
Saving Orphans through Healthcare and Outreach (SOHO) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that exists to improve the quality of life and life expectancy of orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs), especially child-headed households living in communities deeply affected by HIV/AIDS.
SOHO engages with an international network of collaborators and volunteers to provide programs and services that work to heal, educate, feed, empower and nurture orphans and vulnerable children.
