Mission of Hope, June 15-30 2019
SOHO is currently in the process of transforming the Nhlambeni Care Center into Hope Discovery Learning Center. We are developing a learning center that focuses on the creating inclusive classrooms with an emphasis on special needs education. In eSwatini there are not any schools that focus on special needs children. Many teacher’s lack the knowledge, skills and tools to assist these learners. We are collaborating with our sister organization, Seeds of Hope Outreach, to spearhead a new type of program and school in eSwatini.
This year alone, we have had three educators at two different times, go to conduct teacher-training workshops. We are planning a two-week trip is summer to continue training to strength education and understanding for teachers in the classroom. We are seeking teachers, speech/ occupational therapists, audiologists, autism and ABA experts, as well as volunteers. If you want to help enhance education for children who are orphans, vulnerable children, and slow learners…If you love children and want to make a difference, this trip would be an excellent one for you!!
