A Rumor of Hope Rising

The word ‘zulu’ is interpreted as: “a good rumor spread with the wind.” The term ‘vuma’ has been used to describe “being of one mind,” or “being in agreement.” I have learned that the needs of greatest magnitude can be addressed only if people come together to collaborate on solutions.

The good rumor we want to spread is that no individual or organization needs to be overwhelmed by the hunger, abandonment and abuse faced by children and women who are already struggling with the effects of the AIDS pandemic. Together, we can help to change the future for them and for ourselves.

Vuma e-vite

SOHO is forming exciting partnerships with universities, churches, businesses and influential people with caring hearts. Without their participation, we could accomplish nothing. On June 19th, we will hold a Vuma reception to share inspiring ideas hoping to engage the community to collaborate and give feedback. The conversation is a meaningful one, and could result in better medical clinics, a film documentary, an exhibition of art for social change, and more. Spreading the word can change the future. Vuma!
